Here’s my truth: The past couple months Husband has been working hard on making his body the best it can be. He’s eating super clean, working out religiously, and getting enough sleep. And, guess what? It’s starting to show. He has always been hot & I’m always attracted to him, but lately, wow! It’s that feeling of giddiness when I see him standing without his shirt on, or the desire to linger longer when I catch him lifting weights or getting ready for the day. There is just something super sexy about the person you love most taking care of themself.
I expect the same out of myself, for him. I don’t want to just let myself go, because I feel that part of a marriage-or any great relationship-is the willingness to consistently work on & improve our weaknesses. I LOVE that Z works hard to take care of himself and stay in good shape for me, and I want the same from me for him {& know that he appreciates it, too}.
I’m going to be so bold as to say I think we owe it to ourselves and our loved ones to show love by taking care of ourselves.
Sometimes, that means saying no to chocolate, dessert, or the abundance of all things sweet that surrounds us on Valentine’s day. Does that mean you can’t have something you like or you have to deprive yourself completely? NO, of course not! One of my main goals in the beginning of my journey was to get to a place where I could fully enjoy these holidays that come around once in a while & not feel guilty. However, if you are in the process of your journey & you’ve made a commitment to yourself, don’t give in. That chocolate is not worth it.
I propose {no romantic pun intended} that we focus on rewarding ourselves with things other than food. A massage, a pedicure, a nap, a new book, a walk with our best friend, a new cd, a new outfit, or a new piece of jewelry.

I found these Personalized stackable rings on Pinterest a while back and fell in love. I immediately started writing down mantras that could fit on the rings to remind me of my goals & how far I’d come. What better reward than something to have with you all the time to help you visualize what you’ve done, are doing, or what matters most to you! Today’s winner will receive a stackable ring with their own personalized message {up to 15 characters}, from CinnamonSticks’ shop. The giveaway is TODAY ONLY, so spread the word & think of what you want on your ring! Winner announced tomorrow.
How do you enter, you might be asking? Simple. Possibility of two entries:
1. Leave me a comment here telling me what you’d want written on your ring & something you love about me. {okay, just teasing about the what you love about me part, haha!}
2. Post about the giveaway on your FB or blog {come back & leave a second comment letting me know what you did}
Good luck & HAPPY LOVE DAY from me & my family!
{giveaway is provided by me. I don’t know or have any association with CinnamonSticks or their shop-just love their product!}

I would choose – “Love you” A reminder to love me!! Thanks for the giveaway! Happy VD!
I shared it on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/#!/censie/posts/251020694978833
I’d have “gusto” inscribed on a ring. It has become my key word for the changes I’m making in my life. I want to live with GUSTO, embracing a full life, living out loud – which for me, can only really be done at a healthy weight that allows me to be physically active as I want to be. And I do love your blog – it’s such a great source of encouragement, inspiration, and motivation. <3
Okay, I totally love those rings, but I’m not officially entering because it would look fishy if I won . . . and you would have a revolt on your hands. ( ; However, I couldn’t pass up the chance to tell you what I would write on my ring and something I love about you!! On my ring: love me. (To remind myself to love myself and make me a priority.) And something I love about you: how crazy, incredibly thoughtful you are of everyone. Every single person who knows you has been touched by your thoughtfulness in some way, at some time – I’m convinced of this. That’s a lot of people that you’ve impacted! Love you much.
There are so many things I’d love to put on one of these rings! I guess I’d go with one of my fave quotes: “not all who wander are lost” because even though I feel like I wander in my life sometimes, I know I’m not truly lost.
And I’ve never met you in person, but I’m sure we’d be best friends!
I shared on Facebook.
Thanks for the fun giveaway!
I totally love those rings as well…I wish I knew you better but what amber said about your thoughtfulness and you have impacted a lot of people is so true…your confessions page has inspired me many times and your thoughtfulness to address any questions i have has been appreciated…I would need to put more thought into what I would say on my rings…I will go post about the giveaway and get back…
I love that you are doing the 8 Week Challenge! I would love my family’s names on the rings: Johnny, Tara, Lily, Cortland, Kyler
.
Thank you!
I posted on facebook.
Thanks for the giveaway! I am excited to look around your blog
.
HECK! how cute is that! fun post, btw! I have no idea what I would put on my ring if I won….can I ponder it?!? Happy Love Day to ya, Karli!!!
I love the quote “Find Joy in the Journey”–but would also love the names of my family and FOREVER….hmmmm. Thanks for such a great giveaway and your encouragement!
I linked to my facebook page and I’m spreading the word about TSFL! Hopefully I’m a good example of it, too
ok I shared and it is has to come down to 15 characters…. i would put “Stray puppies” on the rings if I was honored enough to win…I like to make the loss feel special and give them direction because when I was astray special people adopted me…
I would write “joy in the journey” to remind me that no matter what I am working towards in my life I need to make sure I am enjoying the process!!! I love so many things about you, your kindness, the way you really worry and think about others, your courage and openness. And the way you motivate me to achieve what I want. LOVE you Karl!

I would put “Determination” because I am lacking that when it comes to exercise and eating right. I love that your Before and After pictures are REAL.
I shared on my FB wall.
I would do the word Prudence, as it is my word for 2012!
Oh I love this giveaway. I think I would write on it my hubby’s name. I would do this because honestly he’s the only one I care what I look like to. It would also be a reminder of this day and the romance we share.
This is such a great idea. Just a little something to remind anyone what we’re all trying to do. My phrase would be “just breath” I tell myself to breath whenever things start getting out of control.
I shared your link on Facebook too. Good Luck to everyone.
I appreciate all your motivation! Thanks for the chance to win. I would have one that said Hardwork and one that said Dedication. (Shout out to Dolvett!)
